PURPOSE: To automatize blocking work by providing a travel carriage provided with a lifting magnet through a rail on an L-letter shape placing stand to accumulate steel products in steps, and attracting and carrying block materials with the magnet.

CONSTITUTION: A plural number of L-letter shape placing stands 1 arrange steel products G with specified intervals in such a way capable of accumulating them in steps, and a travel rail 2 and a guide rail 3 are laid by connecting their vertical sides. A travel carriage 4 is made to freely travel along this guide rail 3 and the travel rail 2. A horizontal arm 45 is protruded on the upper part of the travel carriage 4 and a suspension beam 5 is tied through ropes W1, W2 from a drum 44 through pulleys 48-46, and a lifting magnet 6 is installed on the suspension beams 5. The travel carriage 4 is made to travel at a block material storage part of the edge part of the placing stand device, a block material B is attracted from a storage and carried to a specified position, the suspension beam 5 is dropped and simultaneously magnetization of the magnet 6 is removed and the block B is placed on the steel products G on the placing stand 1.
