To provide an automatic document feeding device which can prevent a document from being moved simultaneously by a conveying belt at the time of pulling out a document without need for an additional separate brake device.
This device is provided with a conveying belt 13 which conveys a document G onto a document platform glass 4 by running along the document platform glass 4 and, after the completion of document G exposure, by running again to carry out the document G from the document platform glass 4, a pulse motor 35 for running the conveying belt 13, and a drawing roller 15 for drawing out a document G to be carried out from the document platform glass 4 in the condition that non-carrying-out end side is brought into contact with the conveying belt 13. The pulse motor 35, at the time of its driving stop, involves detent torque for regulating movement of the conveying belt 13 as a result of the drawing operation of the document G by the drawing roller 15.
