To provide an automatic feeding system for melting a light metal which is capable of automatically feeding a specified amount of molten metal.
This system has a surface combustion burner 16 installed by directing its combustion surface to a pot 12 in an inner space from the side wall of a furnace casing 15. A metal fiber burner(MFB) or a metal knit burner(MNB) is applied to the surface combustion burner 16. A fixed volume feeding means 13 comprises a pump section 13a which takes the prescribed amount of the molten metal out of the molten metal in the pot 12 and a stop valve 13b which shuts off a flow passage so as not to cause the backflow of the taken out molten metal. Further, the surface combustion burner 28 is interposed in a hot water feed pipe 30 and its circumference between the fixed volume feeding means 13 and a hopper 14 for feeding. The hopper 14 for feeding is provided with a shutter 31 for preventing the sag of the molten metal.
