PURPOSE: To automatically fold the paper tape, by holding the containing section of folded type paper tape with elastic substance and balancing the self weight of paper tape with the strain of elastic substance.

CONSTITUTION: The foliding unit 3 of paper tape consists of the paper tape containing section 4 of box type, elastic substance 5, tape guide 6 and holder 12 to which one end 51 of the elastic substance 5 is fixed. When the folded type paper tape 2 is fed from the punch unit 1, one folding of paper tape touches the bottom surface 8. Further, the weight of paper tape fed from one after another operates the elastic substance to keep the distance between the end 62 of the guide 62 and the final folder 21 constant. The paper tape can automatically be folded in order.
