Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the longitudinal dimensions-of the device and to automatically perform the operation of arresting a roll choke of a brush roll and releasing the arresting therefor when a pressing unit for pressing down the brush roll is operated up and down.
CONSTITUTION: In a brush roll machine A adapted to press a brush roll 1 to a metal strip horizontal pass line (a) to be brushed, a brush roll press-down pressing unit 3 includes a lever clamp 13 which is energized by a spring 15 in a designated direction on one surface side of the longitudinal surface of a roll choke 2 and pressed at its force point side by a contact 18 in a fixed position to be moved in the opposite direction to the spring energization and a clamping pressure type clamp device 12 formed by a clamp plate 14 which is brought into contact with the other surface on the other surface side. A recess part 17 into which a stopper 16 of the forward end of the lever clamp of the device is fitted is formed on the roll choke 2.
