Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle automatic operation controller capable of continuing automatic operation even in an interval where a vehicle passes through a toll gate.SOLUTION: An automatic operation controller determines whether or not a toll gate exists within a prescribed distance ahead of a vehicle during execution of an automatic operation control, on the basis of positioning results and map information. When the toll gate exists within the prescribed distance and when the vehicle recognizes, by an external environment recognition device, that the width of a traveling road is expanded, the automatic operation controller shifts to a gate passage mode. In the gate passage mode, the automatic operation controller selects the toll gate to be passed through, on the basis of a scheduled route set by the map information and a navigation device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
