PURPOSE: To cancel an unproper hypothesis from an analyzed result, to restrict variables for a proper hypothesis and to efficiently and automatically execute regression analysis by providing this automatic regression analyzer with a hypothesis forming means and a hypothesis formation control means for judging the validity/invalidity of variables for a hypothesis from a regression analysis result and a regression expression inspecting result and returning the judged result to a pertinent base.
CONSTITUTION: The hypothesis forming device 1 automatically forms the combination of explanatory variables by referring the pertinent base 5. A regression analyzer 2 calculates a regression expression expressed by the combination of the explanatory variables and an explained variable while referring a data base 6. A hypothesis inspecting device 3 statistically inspects a regression analysis result by F inspection and t inspection. When the result passes the inspection, a distribution base 7 is referred to check whether the meaning of the codes of the explanatory variables is proper or not. The hypothesis formation control device 4 corrects the pertinent base 5 based upon a canceled hypothesis and restricts the formation of the succeeding hypothesis and calculates multiplex colinearity between the explanatory variables used for the hypothesis canceled by the static inspection to update the base 5.
