To reduce the dealing burden on clerk in charge by facilitating confirmation before the start of operation by checking the states of all media in an automatic transaction device and outputting the checked results.

Before the operation on holiday, clerk operates an operation display part 6 and starts a check function. When the check function is started, a control part 7 judges the positions to be checked according to the previously decided procedure and checks the states of media to be dealt with at respective units. The control part 7 transforms the checked result into the format able to be printed on the slip of detailed statement, sends it to a card reading/ detailed statement slip printing unit 1 and prints it in the image of check sheet. Thus, the reduction of the labor for check work of respective units by clerk and the prevention of check miss can be expected. Besides, since the check before the operation on holiday can be sufficiently executed, dealing such as the replenishment of media by the clerk or guard caused by the end of media during the operation on holiday can be reduced.
