To provide an automatic transmission capable of realizing oil passage structure to guide oil from a heat exchanger to an intake port of an oil strainer without deteriorating proper temperature in a simple structure.
This automatic transmission 1 is provided with a one-body case 2, an oil pan 11, an oil pump OP to suck oil from a suction port 9a in the oil strainer 9, and a return oil passage 7 to send oil sent from the oil pump OP through prescribed parts in the automatic transmission and an oil cooler 12 into the oil pan 11. A curved-surfaced oil receiving surface 11a is provided in an inner surface of the oil pan 11 at a part to face an opening part 7a of the return oil passage 7. In this constitution, oil set at proper temperature through the oil cooler 12 can be guided to the suction port 9a without being mixed with other oil in the oil pan 11 to the utmost.
