To provide an automatic transmission with a simple structure by shortening the axial dimension of the transmission.
The automatic transmission includes an input shaft 4, a boss part 5b1 extending from a wall part 5b of a transmission case to the axial direction and internally inserted with the input shaft 4, and a clutch pack CP arranged to an outer periphery of the boss part 5b1. A sleeve 110 of an input member of the clutch pack CP is suitable for an outer peripheral surface of the boss part 5b1. Spline fitting parts are respectively provided for a part of the sleeve 110 extending from an edge of the boss part to the opposite side of the wall part and for a part to which an axial position corresponds in the part of the input shaft. Either the sleeve 110 or the input shaft 4 is prevented from axially moving to the wall part side by the wall part 5b, and the other is prevented from axially moving to the opposite side of the wall part by other components. Either an input-shaft-side fitting part or a sleeve-side fitting part is provided with a regulation part 4b engaged with an end surface of the other for mutually regulating displacement to either the input shaft 4 or the sleeve 110 which is not prevented from moving.
