PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine that can smoothly carry a squared merchandise in addition to a cylindrical one.
SOLUTION: An automatic vending machine is equipped with a merchandise carrier device 5, which has an auxiliary stopper 12 and a main stopper 13 are above the other that are made to be freely move between a deterrence position protruding in a merchandise passage 4 and a retracting position retracted from the merchandise passage 4, and which carries a merchandise B1 in the lowest position in the merchandise passage 4 by moving the main stopper 13 to the retracting position when the auxiliary stopper 12 is moved to the deterrence position, and moving the main stopper 13 to the deterrence position when the auxiliary stopper 12 is moved to the retracting position. This vending machine is further equipped with a changeover device 15 that is provided in the merchandise passage 4 in a position opposed to the merchandise carrier device 5. This changeover device 15 consists of an upper part movable plate 22 an a lower part movable plate 33, and enables a vertical movement of this lower part movable plate 33 to freely switch a state in which the upper movable plate 32 protrudes to the side of the merchandise carrier device 5 more closely than the lower part movable plate 33, to a state in which the upper part movable plate 32 moves to the same level as the lower part movable plate 33.
