To obtain the subject part such as water inlet, retaining high mechani cal strength even under long-time and high-temperature contact with long life coolant solution and excellent in heat resistance, dimensional stability, etc., by molding a polyketone resin which is a specific polyketone copolymer.
This automobile water pump-related part is obtained by molding a polyketone copolymer comprising a recurring unit of formula I and formula II, in which (y)/(x) [(x) and (y) are each molar % of formulas I and II in the polymer] is 0.01-0.10 by injection molding, etc. The polyketone copolymer has preferably 1.5-2.0 dl/g intrinsic viscosity measured at 60°C in m-cresol by a standard capillary viscometer and 210-270°C melting point. The polyketone copolymer is obtained by bringing, e.g. carbon monoxide into contact with ethylene and propylene in the presence of a catalytic composition produced from palladium acetate, trifluoroacetic acid, etc.
