Title:
AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE WATER COOLING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01125516
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance safety, in a device which has a cooling water passage including a car-room heater passage which bypasses the cooling water circuit leading to a radiator, by providing a release valve which opens when an unexpected high pressure is applied to the cooling water passage. CONSTITUTION:The cooling water passage of a V-type six cylinder engine comprises an outward passage which directly connects the return port 1c of the water jacket 1b of each cylinder row 1a with a cooling water pump 4, and a return passage consisting of a main circulation passage C and a main return passage c. In the main circulation passage C, a thermostat valve 2 and a radiator 3 are provided, and the main return passage c is provided so as to be branched from the thermostat valve 2 and to bypass the radiator 3. And between the cylinder row 1a on one side and the main return passage c, a car-room heater circuit 5 provided with a heater core 5a is connected. Further, a release valve 7 is provided so as to be interlockedly connected with the thermostat valve 2, so that it is opened when an unexpected high pressure is applied to the cooling water passage, enabling the water quantity passing through a regulating throttle 8 to be increased.
