Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce an auxiliary fluid brake device by enclosing oil in a cylinder loosely fitted to the outer periphery of a driving shaft and disposing a planetary gear mechanism between the driving shaft and the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An outer cylinder 2 having a diameter larger than that of a shaft 1 is loosely fitted to the middle portion of a propeller shaft 1. A helical gear 4 is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder, and a similar gear 5 is formed on the corresponding outer peripheral surface portion of the propeller shaft 1. These helical gears 4, 5 are engaged with each other through four planetary gears 6. When the revolution of the planetary gears 6 is controlled, the outer cylinder 2 is rotated in the opposite direction to the shaft 1 and fins 9, 10 in a chamber 8 are rotated in different directions, so that the turning force of the shaft is braked by resistance of oil in the chamber 8.
