PURPOSE: To provide a back projection type image display device which visually suppresses an oppressive feeling by controlling a human feeling function.
CONSTITUTION: Housing of the back projection type image display device consists of a front frame 1, a rear cabinet 4, a speaker grill 5, and the rear cabinet 4 consists of a part composed of a horizontal surface and a vertical surface and a part composed of a slanting surface, a front frame 1 and a filter are brought into direct contact, and the front surface of the speaker is corrugated. With this constitution, the housing of the back projection type image display device is recognized only the front frame 1 and a part of the rear cabinet 4 in a proper view range, and the human feeling function is controlled to recognize it as a visually thin type, thereby reducing the oppressive feeling. Further, visual noise in the periphery of the display screen are reducible, the whole housing can be recognized as the display screen, and the human feeling function is controlled to reduce the oppressive feeling.
