Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy the strength and cost requirements of the support mechanism of the back rest of a chair which has 3D curved surface in quality design.
SOLUTION: Pipes having approximately oval cross sections are bent to match the both side shapes of the back rest of a chair to make the right and left back supports 3. At upper and lower parts of the back support 3, dent parts 5 opening their fronts are provided by partly pressing the pipe, a through pore is bored at the bottom of the dent part 5, at the right and left ends of the back of the back rest 4, projection parts are provided which fit in the dent parts 5, and fixing screws 10 passing through the through holes are screwed into the screw holes formed at the projection part to attach the back rest 4 to the back support 3.
