Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinal fusion implant which is easily inserted, required no perforation before implantation, safe, and with no need for an acute screw extending to a damageable structure surrounding. SOLUTION: An internal chamber fills and maintains any natural or artificial osteoconductive, osteoinductive, osteogenic or other fusion enhancing material. An implant of a partially cylindrical shape directly concerns and is incorporated in an after fusion process, increases a stability by using a rough part from an outer surface, and resists dislodgement from within a disk space D between two adjacent vertebrae V The implant provides an engagement means at a rear end for easily inserting and extracting the implant. The implant can be filled with, coated with, and/or formed by, a fusion promoting material. The implant dose not need rotation for its insertion and can be seated by linearly advancing.
