Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive backlight light source and a liquid crystal display device in which a first light source part and a second light source part are configured by arranging blue, green and red semiconductor lasers for each light source part in a width direction, spaced from each other on an upper side and on a lower side, thereby thermal influences between semiconductor lasers in a vertical direction are suppressed, temperature differences between semiconductor lasers in the same color can be reduced, the number of semiconductor lasers can be reduced and occurrence of color unevenness can be suppressed.SOLUTION: The backlight light source of the present invention includes: a first light source part and a second light source part each configured by linearly arranging a plurality of units each composed of a blue semiconductor laser, a green semiconductor laser and a red semiconductor laser; and a panel chassis holding the first light source part and the second light source part. The first light source part and the second light source part are disposed parallel to each other on one end side and the other end side of the panel chassis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
