Abstract:
To provide a method for simply determining halitosis without psychological stress by using olfactory sensitivity.SOLUTION: The method for determining halitosis includes the steps of: a) preparing a perfume sample A containing a fruit-based perfume selected from yuzu, muscat, guava, watermelon, passion fruit, guarana, Kyoho grape, and cranberry, and a perfume sample B containing the fruit-based perfume and dimethyl disulfide; b) causing the subject to smell the fragrance sample A and the fragrance sample B, separately; and c) evaluating the subject as having halitosis when both odors are perceived to be the same, and evaluating the subject as not having halitosis when both odors are perceived to be different.SELECTED DRAWING: None
