Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially shorten the seam length of the whole ball cover without damaging the best shape of the ball. SOLUTION: A ball cover particularly used for a soccer ball consists of flat cut pieces having the edges sewn together. The surface of the ball cover has the pattern consisting of a group of regular pentagonal surfaces 12 and group of regular hexagonal surfaces or three-arm star-shaped surfaces 1. The respective regular pentagonal surfaces 12 are surrounded by 5 hexagonal surfaces 11 or 5 three-arm star-shaped surfaces. A plurality of regular hexagonal surfaces 11 or three-arm star-shaped surfaces are linked together under the planar developed condition to form at least one unitary planar cut piece, particularly punched piece. The respective regular pentagonal surfaces 12 are formed as separated planar cut pieces, particularly punched pieces. The individual regular pentagonal surfaces 12 are sewn on the respective all sides 5 together with the edges of the common planar cut piece including the regular hexagonal surface 11 or star-shaped surface.
