Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast water treatment apparatus capable of irradiating ballast water with sufficient ultraviolet rays for sterilization when switching a ballast water destination from a ballast tank to another ballast tank.SOLUTION: A ballast water treatment apparatus 1 includes destination switching means V121, V122, V123 for switching destination ballast tanks 62 based on a switching signal, an ultraviolet rays irradiation unit 61 for irradiating filtered water W2 and/or stored water W3 with ultraviolet rays, flow rate regulating means P1, V1, V11 in the ultraviolet rays irradiation unit for regulating a flow rate of water passing the ultraviolet rays irradiation unit 61, and flow rate control means 9 for controlling the flow rate regulating means P1, V1, V11 in the ultraviolet rays irradiation unit so as to reduce the flow rate of water passing the ultraviolet irradiation unit 61 based on the switching signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
