Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new balloon catheter set and balloon package excellent in handling operability, which can be inserted easily into an artery blood vessel under the condition of extremely contracted balloon part to consequently reduce the inner dia. of a sheath without further obstructing remedy even after the insertion of the balloon catheter.
CONSTITUTION: A catheter set comprises a balloon catheter having a balloon part inserted into an aorta to expand and contract for aiding the cardiac function and a catheter tube 24 for conducting pressure fluid into an from the balloon part, a sheath or the like inserted into an inserting port 85 of the aorta blood vessel 41 to guide the insertion of the balloon part and a balloon package 70 for removably covering the other periphery of the balloon part while the balloon part is contracted. The balloon package is provided on the tip with a connecting boss part 72 connected nearly concentrically with the rear end of the sheath outside the human body.
