To provide the balun transformer using a drum-type core that achieves good high frequency characteristics, even when the number of turns is different between the primary winding and secondary winding.
The primary winding and secondary winding are wound around the core 111 of a drum-type core. The primary winding consists of a wire 131, and the secondary winding includes a wire 132 from one end to the center tap and a wire 133 from the other end to the center tap. The wires 132 and 133 are wound around the core 111 as a bifilar winding, wherein the wire 131 is wound on the inner circumferential side and the wires 132 and 133 are wound on the outer circumferential side. The secondary winding has a larger number of turns than that of the primary winding and the wire diameter of the secondary winding, i.e. the wires 132 and 133, is smaller than that of the primary winding, i.e. the wire 131. The difference of winding width is reduced between the primary winding and secondary winding, thereby the deterioration or ununiformity of magnetic coupling can be relaxed.
