To provide a band saw machine capable of easily performing switching of a cutting load with excellent workability, and expanding a span of adjustable range of the cutting load by increasing the number of switchings.

The band saw machine 1 has a base 7, a frame 3 which is equipped with a saw blade for cutting a workpiece mounted on the base 7, and oscillatably pivoted by the base 7 at one end by a hinge shaft (oscillating shaft) 10, and a helical torsion spring (elastic member) 13 which is wound to the hinge shaft 10, and reduces the cutting load by applying a restoring force to the frame 3. The cutting load is switched by providing a stopper pin (rotary spindle) 20 which is rotatably disposed in parallel to the hinge shaft 10, and a fixing means (a pin 23 and pin holes 7a, 7b) fixing the stopper pin 20 at least two rotational position, and changing an engagement state of the stopper pin 20 with the one end 13b of the helical torsion spring 13 at each rotational position.
