To replace or repair a denomination-based paper currency storage device, in a state where a game stand or a game medium dispenser is operating at system down in a paper currency storage device for game island so adapted that mixed paper currencies, carried from the game medium dispenser provided in a game island, are discriminated by denomination by means of a paper currency discriminating device, and the discriminated paper currencies are carried to corresponding parts in the denomination-based paper currency storage device.
When the denomination-based paper currency storage device 4 is normally operated, motor power source supplied from a power supply box 13 is passed through a control board 35 provided in the storage device 4, thereby supplying it to the paper currency discrimination device 4 as discrimination power source and motor power source. At the time of replacing or repairing the storage device 4, the motor power source supplied from the power supply box 13 is replaced to the discrimination device 4, whereby the storage device 4 is laid in a state free of the motor power source, and mixed paper currencies carried from the game medium dispenser 6 are guided to a sub-cash box 34 provided separately from the storage device 4.
