PURPOSE: To provide a base board for metal gasket which accomplishes enhancement of the durability of metal gasket and which can eliminate ill influence of exfoliation of a coating material upon the engine.

CONSTITUTION: A metal plate 1 as a constituent member of a metal gasket for cylinder head is embodied in a specified shape having a cylinder port 2, bolt hole 3, cooling water port 4, lubricant port 5, etc. Full beads 7 are formed at the periphery of the cylinder port 2, while half beads 10 are formed outside the full beads 7 in proximity thereto, and other half beads 8 are formed enwrapping a number of cooling water ports 4 arranged at the periphery of the cylinder port 2 outside the half beads 10.
