PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery separator having a nonwoven fabric base material and a coating layer including inorganic particles, which is hard to cause unevenness or curl by in a heat-and-dry process in battery assembling.SOLUTION: A base material for a lithium ion secondary battery separator can be made a lithium ion secondary battery separator by providing a coating layer including inorganic particles thereon. The base material consists of a nonwoven fabric base material of which the thermal shrinkage at 150°C is 2.0% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
