Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack capable of generating a plurality of output voltage, reducing discharge when load is not connected, and restraining the generation of noise.
SOLUTION: Two kinds of voltages are output on external terminals 6, 7, 8 of the battery pack 1B. A power switch 19 of a voltage converter 11 is controlled by a control signal 20. The control signal 20 is generated from a start signal at a power source controller 32. The start signal, changing its value of voltage according to the switching on/off of a power source of a portable telephone to which the battery pack 1B is connected, is generated at the portable telephone side. When the battery pack 1B is connected to the portable telephone, the power source of the portable telephone is turned on, the voltage of the start signal becomes higher than a prescribed voltage and becomes lower than the prescribed voltage, when the power source is turned off. When the voltage of the start signal is higher than the prescribed voltage, the power switch 19 is turned on; and when the voltage of the of the start signal is lower than the prescribed signal, the power switch is turned off. The voltage converter 11 can be operated only when it is needed, by the control of the power switch 19.
