The battery includes an electrode group laminating or winding a positive electrode with a positive electrode active substance layer formed on an positive electrode collector and a negative electrode with a negative electrode active substance layer formed on a negative electrode collector with a porous insulating layer interposed between the positive and negative electrodes; a nonaqueous electrolyte; a battery case containing the electrode group and the nonaqueous electrolyte; a first lead connecting one of the positive and negative electrodes with a bottom of the battery case; a sealing member sealing an opening of the battery case; and a second lead connecting the other of the positive and negative electrodes with the sealing member. At least one of the first and second leads has a high resistance part on at least one of a contact part of the first lead with the bottom of the battery case and a contact part of the second lead with the sealing member.
