Title:
BEARING DEVICE FOR AXLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008232442
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To raise an omission drag force by a caulking section, in a bearing device for an axle.

A friction bearing 2 is prepared with a R chamfering 24a in an internal diameter edge section of an inner ring 24, it is made outer fitting attachment to an axle-body 1, a cylindrical part on a free margin side of the axle-body 1 is flexed radially outward, and by caulking along the R chamfering 24a of the inner ring 24, the friction bearing is coming-out stopper locked to the axle-body 1. In this bearing device, an internal diameter side edge region of the caulking section 14 is formed into a conical shape, a diameter of which is gradually enlarged outward in an axial direction, where a position of the minimum diameter of this conical surface 14a is arranged outside rather than an end face of the inner ring in the axial direction, a position of the maximum diameter of the conical surface, is arranged inwardly in a diametrical direction rather than an inner ring inner circumferential surface. A shape of such a caulking section 14, implies that in a caulking process, an internal diameter side edge region of the caulking section 14 does not have to be plastic deformed into a geometry where an internal diameter side edge region of the caulking section 14 is drawn out, a wall thickness of the internal diameter side edge region concerned, that is, a thickness between the conical surface 14a of the caulking section 14 and an internal diameter side edge region of the inner ring 24 can be maintained after caulking almost on a par with that before caulking.
