To prevent the generation of band-like wear marks in a ball of an angular contact ball bearing even if there is a temperature rise, and to prevent or suppress the generation of abnormal noise in a bearing device for a turbocharger.
The bearing device 1 for a turbocharger is equipped with a pair of the angular contact ball bearings 2a, 2b, and the ball bearings 2a, 2b have a rotary shaft side inner ring 3 having a pair of inner ring raceways 3a, 3a separated in an axial direction of a rotary shaft 32, a pair of outer rings 4, 4 in a housing side having outer ring raceways 4a, 4a facing the inner ring raceways 3a, 3a, and a plurality of balls 5 interposed so as to freely roll in a zero or positive clearance state between the inner ring raceways 3a, 3a and the outer ring raceways 4a, 4a. By interposing an outer ring spacer 7 comprising a solid material with a smaller coefficient of linear expansion than the rotary shaft 32 between the pair of outer rings 4, 4, even if the rotary shaft 32 is thermally expanded by a temperature rise, a clearance between the angular contact ball bearings 2a, 2b is maintained.
