To reduce the inflating deformation of a second inside wheel and prevent the second inside wheel from being axially moved relative to a first inside wheel by reducing a force to the second inside wheel in the radial outer direction by caulking when the second inside wheel is fitted and fixedly caulked to the small diameter step part of the first inside wheel.
In this bearing device for wheels, the second inside wheel 3 is fitted to the small diameter step part 8 of the first inside wheel 2, and the cylindrical part 20 for caulking of the first inside wheel 2 is fixedly caulked by a swing mold. A continuous circumferential groove 36 is formed in the inner peripheral surface 33 of the second inside wheel 3 in proximity to the main chamfered part 35 of the second inside wheel 3. Accordingly, when the mold strongly presses a caulked portion 16 in the final step of caulking, a part of the material of the first inside wheel comes into the circumferential groove 36 to prevent the second inside wheel 3 from being inflatingly deformed in the radial direction by the radial swelling of the material by the pressing force. Also, the second inside wheel 3 is prevented from being axially moved on the small diameter step part 8 relative to each other by the biting of the material into the circumferential groove 36.
