Abstract:
PURPOSE: To dispense with a fine electrode forming structure as a conventional electrostatic actuator, in an optical operation type manipulator and also a complicated wiring accompanying the electrode, and perform precise handing in an isolated environment.
CONSTITUTION: An optical operation type manipulator is provided with a glass plate 1; a first transparent electrode 2 provided thereon; a fixed part 3 provided thereon and consisting of a dielectric body; a solution basin 4 provided thereon to house a solution 5; a second transparent electrode 6 arranged opposite to the first transparent electrode 2; a glass plate 7 provided thereon; a fine particle 9 housed in the solution basin 4; a battery 8 connected between the first and second transparent electrodes 2, 6; a light source 11 for emitting a light to the fixed part 3; a mask 10 having a light shielding pattern for shielding the light source 11; and a shift means for moving the light shielding pattern of the mask 10 to capture and move fine particles to the area of the fixed part 3 where the light is shielded by the mask 10.
