To solve the problem that a conventional behavior sudden-change detector does not take a vehicle speed into consideration when a behavior sudden change is detected, and that the behavior sudden change cannot be detected precisely because the behavior sudden change is detected on the basis of the same reference at a low-speed running operation and a high-speed running operation.
The vehicle speed 3 is detected by a vehicle-speed detection means 2; a steering-wheel operation amount 6 is detected by a steering-wheel operation-amount detection means 5; and whether the detected vehicle speed 3 and the detected steering-wheel operation amount 6 are in a danger region or not is judged by a danger-region judgment means 1, by using the detected vehicle speed 3 and the detected steering-wheel operation amount 6, and by referring to a relational diagram in which the danger region is defined in advance on the basis of the relationship between the vehicle speed and the steering-wheel operation amount. As a result, the behavior sudden change of a vehicle is judged.
