To provide a bending device capable of bending a workpiece without any restriction in the bending direction.

The bending device is provided with: a bending mechanism 30 which holds a long workpiece 4 by a bending die 32, and a fastening die 42 revolving around the bending die 32, and bends the workpiece 4 by revolving the fastening die 42; and a fixed stand 48 having a chuck mechanism 46 for chucking the workpiece 4. The bending device is also provided with an articulated robot 2 which is mounted with the bending mechanism 30 and moves the bending mechanism 30. When the twisting angle is within the twisting angle range, the bending mechanism 30 holding the workpiece 4 is twisted around the axis of the longitudinal direction by controlling the articulated robot 2 (Steps 100, 110). When the twist exceeds the preset twisting angle range, the workpiece 4 is re-held by the bending mechanism 30, and twisted again after the bending mechanism 30 is twisted in the twisting angle range (Steps 100-170).
