Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R is 1W6C alkyl, 2W6C alkenyl, 2W6C alkynyl, etc.; n is 0W2; X is H or halogen; Y is H, halogen, nitro, 1W6C alkylthio, etc.).
EXAMPLE: 3-Trifluoromethyl-2'-methylthiobenzenesulfonanilide.
USE: A germicide for agriculture and horticulture, especially exhibiting excellent action to clubroot of brassicaceous vegetable and also useful for blast, powdery mildew, rust, downy mildew, etc., of rice.
PREPARATION: A trifluoromethylbenzenesulfonylchloride derivative expressed by formula II is reacted with a thioaniline, sulfinylaniline or sulfonylaniline derivative expressed by formula III in the presence of an acid binding agent (e.g., pyridine) to provide the compound expressed by formula I.
