Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new benzylamine derivative having antidepressant, antianxiety, central nerve activating and improving actions on disturbance of consciousness and sigma receptor ergogenic actions or its salt.
CONSTITUTION: This benzylamine derivative is expressed by formula 1 (R1 is a lower alkyl; R2 is a cycloalkyl; R3 is a halogen) or its salt, e.g. 3-(4- chlorobenzyloxy)-N-cyclopropylmethyl-N-ethylbenzylamine. The compound expressed by formula 1 is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound expressed by formula 2 with a compound expressed by formula 3, providing a compound expressed by formula 4 and subsequently carrying out the reducing reaction of the resultant compound expressed by formula 4. The compound expressed by formula 1 is useful for improving various symptoms of disturbance of consciousness, further sequelae thereof and senile dementia and as a therapeutic agent for stress phrenopathy, Parkinson diseases, etc., as an antidepressant and antianxiety agent and further as a therapeutic agent for obsessional neurosis.
