Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sprocket providing an excellent upshift path.
SOLUTION: The sprocket for a multiple gear sprocket assembly of a bicycle includes a sprocket body 40 and a plurality of teeth A3 to K3. The plurality of teeth A3 to K3 are provided to extend radially outwardly from the outer periphery of the sprocket body 40 and to be circumferentially spaced apart from one another, and include a first upshift tooth A3, a second upshift tooth B3, and a third upshift tooth C3. The first, second and third upshift teeth A3, B3 and C3 are dimensioned to maintain the alignment of a bicycle chain 23 so as to prevent an upshift of the chain 23 during engagement of the outer link plate 23b of the chain with the second upshift tooth B3 and also to shift the bicycle chain 23 along a first upshift path during engagement of the inner link plate 23a of the chain with the second upshift tooth B3.
