Title:
BIMORPH DRIVE ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63202080
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent reduction of driving force of bimorph by adequately providing a hole to the internal surface or a cutout part to the periphery of the shim which is a forming element of bimorph and reducing expanding or compressing force generated on both electrostrictive ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A metal plate 14c held by electrostrictive ceramics 14a, 14b, forming elements of bimorph 14, is partly projected from the bimorph 14, forming the connecting terminal 14T of center electrode, and external electrodes 14d, 14c are formed by printing or evaporating an alloy of silver to the external surface of ceramics 14a, 14b. A hole H is provided to the internal surface of shim 14c and a cutout part N is provided to the periphery thereof. Thereby, a bending stress of shim 14c can be reduced and a larger driving force can be attained with the ceramics 14a, 14b of the same shape.
