Abstract:
To prevent binding tape that is wound on the reel and binds collected rod-like articles as an article to be bound from running out and getting short while it is being drawn out.SOLUTION: A tape reel 4 with heat welding binding tape 5 wound thereon is mounted, and the ends of the article to be bound are held by a chuck and rotated. Meanwhile, the binding device draws out the binding tape 5 from the reel and winds it onto the outer periphery of the article to be bound. The binding device has two tape reels 4 on the front and the rear in the transport direction, and a tape sensor 12 that draws the binding tape 5 from each tape reel 4 and meanwhile detects the absence and presence of the binding tape 5 is provided. On the downstream side of the tape sensor 12, the binding tapes 5 are merged and double-layered and pass an adhesion device 14 with a heater. When neither tape sensor 12 operates, only one binding tape 5 passes, and when the tape sensor 12 detects the absence of the binding tape 5, the adhesion device 14 with a heater is operated to bind two binding tapes 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
