Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel depot composition for injection with sufficient syringe passing property and injectability while maintaining low viscosity during storage and injection.SOLUTION: Provided is a composition comprising a biodegradable polymer in an amount of about 5-40 wt% of a vehicle, a vehicle containing hydrophobic solvent in an amount of about 95-60 wt% of the vehicle and an insoluble beneficial drug complex dispersed in the vehicle, which complex has a solubility in the vehicle of less than 1 mg/mL at 25°C, where the composition has a zero shearing viscosity less than 1,200 centipoise at 25°C and is not an emulsion. The composition is particularly useful as a depot composition for injection.SELECTED DRAWING: None
