Abstract:

To provide a biodegradable fiber laminate which is biodegradable and can be deeply drawn with a press, and a method of manufacturing the laminate.

A cotton-like sheet is formed of a bamboo fiber and a polylactic acid fiber mixed in a specified weight ratio and intertwined to each other by a needle punch method. A preform is obtained by holding a reticular sheet 18 with the cotton-like sheet in a sandwich fashion. Next, the preform is heated at a lower temperature than the melting point of the bamboo fiber, exceeding the melting point of the polylactic acid fiber. In addition, a nonoven fabric 15 is placed on the heated preform, set in a mold 21 with the surface heated at a specified temperature and press-molded. After that, the mold is completely clamped and kept in this state for a specified time, and a shaped tray 11 is annealed under a slightly eased clamping pressure.
