A laminated polarizing plate comprises a laminated body consisting of ≥1 layers of the birefringent films and a polarizing film and a liquid crystal display device is provided with the birefringent film or the laminated polarizing plate. Thereby the laminated polarizing plate which excellently maintains the optical retardation characteristics held before adhesion even after being stuck to the polarizing plate via an adhesive layer and has excellent uniformity of the optical retardation characteristics within its surface and the liquid crystal display device which hardly generates display unevenness, has excellent compensating ability of the liquid crystal's birefringence and has excellent visibility are obtained.
