Title:
BLACK DYEING WITH INDIGO DYE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3969599
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide black dyeing with an indigo dye which can much increase the fastness of indigo dyeing, bring this dyeing shade close to that of natural indigo dyeing, in other words, reproduce the old indigo dyeing using chemically synthesized indigo dye by treating the fiber to be dyed with iron tannate.
SOLUTION: This black dyeing with indigo dye is characterized in that the fiber is pretreated with iron tannate. The pretreatment of fiber with iron tannate before, after or during the indigo dyeing gives black dyeing as a finish color. The fiber means undyed yarns or undyed fabric dyeable with indigo dye. The treatment of the yarns or fabric is carried out through the first treatment with tannic acid and the second treatment with an iron compound. The iron compound is, for example, ferrous sulfate, ferric sulfite, ferric chloride or the like. The indigo dye is preferably used in the form of a solution of high concentration.
