Title:
BLACK SMOKE EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR DIESEL ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3378559
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To periodically and automatically remove a deposit against a filter such as carbon, unburnt ash, etc., without using a heater device.
SOLUTION: This black smoke emission control device is constituted of a housing 16 interposed in an exhaust pipe 12 of a diesel engine 10, a first oxidation catalyst 18 stored in the housing 16, a filter housing 20 on the downstream side of the housing 16 and connected through a pair of change-over valves 30, 32, a heat resisting filter 22 for black smoke collection bearing a second oxidation catalyst arranged so that a channel direction becomes reverse by the change-over valves in the housing 20 and an exhaust terminal end part connected to the downstream side of the filter housing 20 through a pair of the change-over valves 30, 32, the channel direction of exhaust gas passing the heat resisting filter 22 is changed by alternately changing each of the valves 30, 32, and exhaust gas flows to the exhaust terminal end side by bypassing the heat resisting filter 22 by overall opening of each of the valves 30, 32.
