Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for treating roots of onion, capable of correctly cutting the onion roots at the bottoms by scratching down the roots to cut at the joint of the roots during transporting the onions in a hanging state with a transporting means.
SOLUTION: This method comprises scratching down the roots of onions by a pair of rolls and, in this state, cutting the roots of the onions at the bottoms with a cutter in a state of advancing into a space between the onions and the rolls.
