PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable blackout decorative coating by applying a cold dry type water-base coating material containing an acrylic modified vinylidene chloride emulsion resin and a specific surfactant to avoid cissing phenomenon at the time of blackout decorative coating on an anti-chipping coating of an automobile body.
SOLUTION: At the time of applying the blackout decorative coating on the anti-chipping coating by a vinyl chloride based resin in the automobile body, a cold dry type water-base coating material containing the acrylic modified vinylidene chloride resin and the surfactant of a molecular structure having hydrophobic groups in both terminals and a hydrophilic part in the center is applied. At this time, a copolymer resin as the vinyl chloride resin, 2,4,7,9- tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol as the surfactant and a vinyldene chloride/vinyl chloride/acrylic acid terpolymer as the acrylic modified vinylidene chloride emulsion resin are preferably used. And the quantity of the surfactant in the cold dry type water-base coating material is controlled to 0.5-3.0wt.%.
