To obtain a blade displacement controlling device of a slicing machine which can widely control a displacement of a blade.
An air pad 28 is movably installed in an axial direction of a blade 16 through a piezoelectric element 40. The piezoelectric element 40 is deformed in response to an applied voltage. The air pad 28 moves along the axis of the blade 16 according to the deformation of the piezoelectric element 40, whereby a space between the air pad 28 and the blade 16 can be adjusted and an air pressure exerted on the blade 16 can be controlled. Therefore, in comparison with a method which controls displacement to vary only an air pressure of the air ejected from the air pad 28, a width which can control a displacement of the blade 16 is scaled up.
