The blanking method for blanking the objective part 2 to be blanked of a metal sheet 1 with a press 10, includes: a preforming stage P1 where frames 4 which are brought into pressure-contact with a punch 13 in a pressurizing direction D1 and a vertical wall 5 which is brought into pressure-contact with the punch 13 in a direction D2 orthogonal to the pressurizing direction D1 are formed in the edge part 3 by compressing the edge part 3 adjacent to the objective part 2 to be blanked of the metal sheet 1 in the pressurizing direction D1 of the press with a compressing die 11 and the compressing punch 13 by utilizing blanking force F of the press; and a blanking stage P2 where the objective part 2 to be blanked of the metal sheet 1 is blanked in the pressurizing direction with a die 26 and a punch 21 in a state where the vertical wall 5 is restrained in the direction D2 orthogonal to the pressurizing direction D1.
