To provide a block for an embankment construction method which facilitates fitting construction of blocks and enhances the dimensional and positional accuracy.
The upper half of one side face of opposite right and left faces of a block 1 is cut off to form a recession A1 at the upper half and form a protrusion B1 at the lower half stepwise. The lower protrusion 3 is formed so as to protrude the side face of the lower half of the main body 2 of the block 1. The lower half of the other side face is cut off to form a recession A at the lower half and a protrusion B2 at the upper half stepwise, an upper projection 4 is formed so that the side face of the upper half of the main body 2 of the block 1 protrudes. The blocks are put side by side so that the lower protrusion 3 of adjacent blocks and the upper protrusion 4 of the block mutually adjacent to each other engage with each other as shown by the two dotted line. In this way, as the lower protrusion 3 and the upper protrusion 4 of adjacent blocks are mutually engaged, the fitting workability of the blocks is more facilitated and even when an external force such as vibration or the like is applied during the construction or after lamination, displacement does hardly arise due to the frictional resistance of the engaged parts.
